CIRC-PACK final event

Webinar: Innovations in plastic(s) for a circular economy

*This event was updated from a physical event to a webinar*

The European Green Deal sets out ambitious goals for plastic packaging products in EU, including having all products on the market be reusable or recyclable by 2030.

Ambitions of such magnitude require innovation; luckily we are not starting from scratch. European projects funded under the Horizon 2020 programme, such as CIRC-PACK, have worked over the past three years to develop the innovations needed to make plastic packaging waste more circular.

The project hosted its final event as a webinar. It shared key insights and engaged with policy makers, city representatives and technical experts on how best to make bio-based and recyclable plastics the norm in the plastics industry.

The event was as an occasion to learn more about the European strategy for plastics in a circular economy and hear from companies what the challenges and the possible solutions are to tackle plastic waste.

A technical issue, due to overloaded servers during one of the first Europe-wide home office days in March 2020, occurred which meant the webinar was split into two. Both parts are included in the full video.
